Our Teen Treatment Programs

At Guide Behavioral Health, we provide structured, evidence-based outpatient mental health care for teens ages 12–17. Our programs are designed to help teens stabilize, build coping skills, and regain confidence — while staying connected to school, family, and daily life.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our after-school program runs 4–7 PM, Monday–Thursday, offering consistent therapeutic support without disrupting the school day. Teens participate in group therapy, skills work, individual check-ins, and family involvement — all focused on emotional regulation, resilience, and forward progress at home and at school.

Flex Intensive Outpatient Program (Flex IOP)

Flex IOP follows the same clinical model as IOP, with a lighter schedule of any two days per week, Monday–Thursday. This option provides meaningful structure and support for teens who need more than weekly therapy but benefit from a more flexible pace.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our daytime program offers a higher level of structure and support during the day, while teens continue living at home and staying connected to family. Running 10 AM–3 PM, Monday–Friday, PHP helps teens stabilize during periods of increased stress or risk and often serves as a starting point before stepping down to after-school support.

Comprehensive Mental Health Support for Teens

Teens today face more pressure and emotional strain than ever. At Guide Behavioral Health, we support teens ages 12–17 who are struggling with anxiety, depression, school challenges, emotional dysregulation, and early substance use. Our goal is to help teens feel steady, connected, and capable again — at home, at school, and within themselves.

We treat a wide range of challenges, including persistent anxiety, panic, low mood, self-harm urges, and intense emotional swings. Many teens also come to us when school becomes overwhelming or when stress leads to withdrawal, conflict, or school avoidance.

Our approach blends evidence-based therapy with warmth, structure, and real-world skill building. We work closely with families and schools across Menlo Park, Palo Alto, and San Mateo County to help teens regain confidence, communicate more clearly, and move forward with support.
